Today's platform companies talk a good game about caring about their customers, but at the end of the day, their chief concern is shareholder value. Martin: You can't optimize for both customer satisfaction and shareholder value. Optimization, he says, is linear. One must follow the other in terms of priority. I think it's rational to trust firms that care about the future and it's foolish to trust firms That don't Care About The Future.
