The Irish Republican Army (Ira)
The i r a were an armed revolutionary group that aided the 19 16 independent movement in Ireland. They specialized in gerilla warfare, grass roots recruiting and a unique brand of ruthless violence. In northern ireland, religion was the key factor that elevated one group and pushed down the other. The fact that britain still had such a considerable stronghold in the north was nothing less than a slap in the face.
