I feel like all of us operate from a sense of fear and insecurity at some level. I've never kept it secret, but most people aren't aware of even here at Pixar. As a storyteller, you're always trying to find the vulnerability in the character because that's what makes them relatable. It seems like that is where the skill comes in to say there are dueling emotions there.
