20 nose breathing during exercise ensures the most efficient exchange of oxygen on each breath and helps you maintain an aerobic pace. You're utilizing the diaphragm appropriately to get a full exchange of oxygen activating the oxygen rich lower lobes of the lungs which are on the bottom.
