The Death of the Angel of Animacy
In 19 99, canadian scholar paul caleli published a bizarre, brilliant and nearly inaccessible reed on the loss of the animate called the angel's corpse. He says we have lost the cognitive faculty that in the past allowed humans to experience an angel ophany. We've decided that this type of cognition, what corbin called supersensory cognition, isn't necessary. In other words, if the angel is a corpse, then so is part of our psyche, which has in turn annihilated itself in the wake of the angelic death.
