Steve Young was interviewed by police two days after the crime watch episode aired. He admitted he'd lied about his whereabouts on the day of the murders, because he was afraid for his own safety. The married father-of-two had no criminal record and owned a number of legally licensed firearms. For investigators, there was nothing about Steve Young that raised any red flags.
