Jericho was a wealthy religious road, and robbers would often attack people coming from it. They had a belief that even if the shadow of a dead person fell on you, you'd be ceremonially unclean. But then along comes the samaritan who took pity on him. He bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine,. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day, he took out two denari, gave them to the innkeeper. Now turns back to the religious leader. Which of these two do you think was a neighbour to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers? Jesus
