I think targeted specific supplements before you cover the basics can be overrated. I've had a number of instances where people have come to clinic and they've used a particular supplement in the hope that it will reduce their blood pressure or reduces sugar spikes. And they're not doing the basics. They haven't made a considered effort to improve lean muscle mass, for example. Those are the things that are going to have drastic effects, not the supplements. So with the exception of a few, I always look at omega three, vitamin D, iron as things that we should definitely have checked because they have a huge number of different downstream effects.
