Teaching the Humanities at Hebrew University
i think, if anything, the humanities are more important than ever. In the united states, they're in disarray. The people who teach in those fields, i feel, have given up the game. They've abdicated what they have to contribute to our understanding and to society as a whole. We actually believe that reading the great books and thinking about those great questions mean, both jewish and western thought are or good purpose and a mission worth championing.
