The Myths of History

Oftentimes history can feel just like a fictional story. So who's to say that the people writing it just didn't make things up? It's a tempting conspiracy to entertain. What if our entire past was just an elaborate fable? What if the foundation of our entire soc ety was built on sand? Indeed, the entire premise of this podcast stems from the idea that sometimes myths and misconceptions get folded into the historical record and become what we think of as real history. But by thinking critically and digging into the evidence, we can separate the fact from the fiction or at the very least we can make good guesses that are supported by evidence.
