The Importance of Morality in Animals

I believe that humans working in concert with each other produce more happiness than when they work separately. Animals aren't capable of doing this either, and don't have even concepts of moral system or ethical systems. I also have a really hard time applying a gradient scale to animals. It seems weird to me to say that like it's probably not okay to like torture an animal, but if you want to like kill an animal, you know, prematurely to eat it, that is okay. There's an interesting question as to whether we should sort of intervene in such cases.
