The book starts in and almost nearly ends at a dinner party where their guests, the guests are assembled and the time traveler is not there. I just because there's so many references to the time machine, I was just like, I assume more locks are going to show up at some point. But yeah, so this theme of regrets and wanting to change something in the past, but also the theme of like power.
