Are Landlords Being Hit by Rising Rents?
Stata: Landlords are being hit by rising costs. But there's nowhere for people to go because house prices are at historic highs. Housing affordability is at historic low, so you can't just buy somewhere if you've been renting for years. Even if you do qualify for social housing, the odds are you'll be on a waiting list for years and now we're in a period of crisis. And I think lots of landlords are not equipped financially or otherwise, you know, in terms of people's complex needs and social struggles to deal with it.
