The MBTA's Green Line

The idea was to extend the green line through a disused Pleasant Street portal. The feds refuse to fund it, saying they don't want to pay for something that's adjacent to what they just funded. So MBTA comes up with a second idea: We're going to cheap out and you have a trolley bus system.
