Most of these taran mummies and the most breathtaking archaeological excavations came from this far eastern portion of the taran basin, pretty dry to day. Scientists believe she was of indo european origin and belonged to a group of people known as tocarians. These tombs were first discovered in 19 ten by a local inhabitant from that region named erdi. By the time he stumbled on this site, a fair amount of the graves had already been plundered and looted.
