The very reason the banks exist exposes them to the risk of bank runs, if there's a lot of confidence. So in the ideal case, depositors are sensitive to different risks. But then the other thing that Douglas Diamond talks about is that they should have diversification in terms of their sources of information. And SBB failed for basically all the reasons that they said that banks would fail. It seems like an unlikely coincidence.
