She was an indigenous woman who was born on the standing rock reservation in north dakota. After high school, she came to san francisco and immediately cofounded a group called gay american indians. The goal was er to bring indigenous l g b t c folks together to connect,. But it was also a way for them to organize, to try and carv space for themselves in the wider white community.
