The Fed prints 300 years worth of money between 2008 and 2014. The policy is called quantitative easing, which makes no sense to anybody. There was a populist movement driven by farmers to create some central bank in the early 1900s. Alan Greenspan pioneered this language that is intentionally complicated and obtuse. He did that for the political purpose of removing money from the public square.
