Taylor: Your work documents the incompleteness of Indian nationhood, its experimental tone and mode of being. I was especially curious about the chapters on secularism, socialism, and successful democracy as templates of contradictions that shaped India. Could you tell us in which each of these projects revealed the contradictions of India under Narrow? Taylor: There are contradictions yes, there are inconsistencies yes, but we shouldn't expect coherence or absolute consistency from any government in India.
