The Importance of Language Models in AI Discourse
On one level AI doesn't understand anything and the reason that it's getting it wrong is because it doesn't have a knowledge base. The flip side of that is that would now we're using these sort of language models they too do not understand something but the models can give you something that is 100% true or 50% true sometimes it's totally wrong. We don't have a great understanding of how the human brain works right like right we know some things about thatyou know we don't have dreams no one knows um so we're really just in like territory here that's like making us rethink a lot of things we think everything yeah everything everything that's my message for your listener
