Is Earwax a Second Line Medication?
A 60 year old male with OBC and type 2 diabetes malitis presenting to the emergency department with influenza type A, complicated by pneumonia. Before admission, he had been managing his diabetes with metformin 1000 milligrams twice a day. On arrival, his bloods was a healthy 275 milligrams per deciliter. The admitting provider decided to hold the patient's metformin and replaced it with insulin on a sliding scale.
