The DDOS Attack on AO3
AO3 is a nonprofit organization and it costs around $260,000 to run this site which is free to use. The group who allegedly attacked them is called anonymous Sudan - they said that this was part of a campaign to target companies registered specifically in the United States. So the attacker floods the website, the network just can't handle it, meaning the website crashes. And when it crashes, regular users, so these are like writers and readers, they can't access their work. I mean, it's terrorism.
