Automate the Building of Machines
There are methodologies to explore technologies that don't exist yet. We can use this both to think about what we can do and extrapolate it into the future. Nature demonstrates that some things are possible and you must are pretty good at imitating nature. Once we know how to do a particular task, we can usually make a machine that does the same thing again and again and again. Sometimes that is an order of magnitude more effective than humans.
