The Importance of Measurement in Physics

There does seem to be a sort of radical, urgent, deep conceptual philosophical need to cut this off someplace. This virulent infection of being in superpositions spreads very quickly up the chain to macroscopic phenomena if that's the way you treat these situations philosophically in the first place. So there is a fact of the matter about where the pointer is pointing and there is a Fact of the Matter about where you think the pointer is point at. That's how it could imaginably come to be the case that people are going to paint themselves into a corner by using the word measurement.
