Sometimes women have reported like not reading those cues or not feeling safe enough to leave the situation as well. Even if you're not having a flon kind of freeze shut down trauma response we can still go into flight mode which often we think about as avoidance running away escaping but really flight mode is avoidance of the problem. Women are socialized to avoid conflict right by taking care of the emotional needs of people around you so actually a form of a flight response in kind of a sexually coercive or emotionally coercive situation is to avoid the conflict and often that's by acquiescing, saying okay yep we'll do what you want to do.
