Anvin tas asks what it would look like to allow space for people to grieve something that others do not think is legitimate. She says in parenting, sometimes you have to acknowledge the feelings of a child and move us more into a compassionate posture. In South Africa's truth and reconciliation commission, there was an emphasis on accountability for perpetrators but also healing for those who had been harmed by them.
