The linguistic turn is a major thing that happened in the later half of the 20th century, and has had just like effects in research across pretty much every discipline you could think of. The big sort of switch kind of came when Latour got really big, right? Like there are precedent still at our in pragmatism. But the thing is that pragmatism became like a very like sideshow minor thing after World War two. And so, a lot of what it had to say was forgotten. It was really with Latour, and this kind of idea of like non modernity that we kind of really started to get this this pushback against the linguistic turn.
