How to Be a Scout in Politics
Being a scout means trying to have the appropriate amount of confidence in your various beliefs based on the evidence. Just that act of trying is something that most people don't do by default, at least when it comes to emotionally or idiologically fraught things. It's not about not being committed to anything. And like being this kind of purely receptive cartographer, actually, you do have, as you say, the map and pencil,. Like you do have hypotheses. You do have certain things that you're more committed to than others, certain thing that you have more doubt about. I that makes ite so that i think brings a really nice texture and nuance to this dot position.
