Kant: All objective knowledge must have an element of this a priori necessity, and yet it's synthetic as well. Con agrees with that, that sense of necessity can't come in from the outside. The innovation for kant is to say, once you've expanded hume's skepticism from causality to everything else, you get a solution of the problem.
