The Greatest Defence Procurement Disaster in History
30 major defense projects are running a total of 79 years late. The acquisition of new submarines has been pushed out by up to two decades. Future frigates are 15 billion dollars over budget and delayed into the next decade. There is now concern they might e too heavy and too slow. We recognize this will mean defense budgets beyond the two % pench mark. Labor will insure that defence has the resources it needs to defend australia as well as to deter potential aggressors.
