Is Baptism a Gift?
Father Mike: Baptism is not magic. It's an action of faith. And this work of God's grace, it is completely a gift. When I got baptized as an infant on March 1st, 1975, there was nothing that merited God's salvation. Father Mike: The right of baptism is the parents and God parents. They profess the faith. This is the faith in which we want this child to be baptized.
