The Politics of Scottish Leftness
Scotland is more left wing than England, which in recent years has been a low bar. It's often said that Labour can't win at Westminster without Scotland. But I think what is true is it hasn't formed a government without happening to have a majority of Scottish seats - but that may change next year. The SNP are governing with the Greens, who if the media down south got any wind of their existence, they would be absolutely horrified of the things that green MSPs say. And I don't think the Labour Party would get away with it in the same way that the SNP have.
