The Refutation of the Logicians

Khadith scholar Ibn Asala issued a legal ruling prohibiting the study of logic. He described its greatest exponent, Avicenna, as 'the devil of the human devils' In his treatise The Refutation of the Logicians, Ibn Taimiya questions this theory. But he also argues that definitions do nothing at all to bring us to knowledge.
