Caligula and the Invasion of the Channel

Caligula and his soldiers march to the english channel. He boards a trireme and he goes out a little ways into the channel, and then he sails back. We don't know exactly why he did this. It's quite possible that he got the hebe jebees and insisted they turned the boat around. Of course, the more likely thing is that he didn't have the respect of his soldiers,. And what was going on here was essentially a mutiny.
