Alice was a kind of an innovator in her time. In the years between world were one and were too, she was giving lectures across vienna about new ways to eat. One of alice's signature dishes was the bridge b or bridge bites. It was this minnie sandwich on a cocktail stick. She tried everything to get to america because my father had already made it to port an organ as a student. And a wanted to get her and a his brother out. Here's talking about actually seeing hitler parade into vienna.

In the 1930s, Alice Urbach wrote a beloved cookbook in Vienna. But during the Holocaust it was stolen: Aryanized, peppered with Nazi ideology and republished under someone else's name. The publisher refused to change it back for more than 85 years. Alice got her intellectual rights restored by her granddaughter Karina Urbach, a historian, who joins us to tell the story.
