Science Fiction Is a Genre That You Can Fail, Rightly
Philip k. Dick took some risks in his novels, and those risks um got through to an audience that may not have otherwise been aware of these issues. Kim stanley robinson wrote one of the most difficult books i've ever read in my life. I think contemporary science fiction doesn't have to sort of hide behind like joseph campbell heroes stuff. It's a genre that you can fail, rightly. You can try and fail, andbu yare to take those big swings.
