What Is Modern China?
Historians used to say that modern china began in the middle of the nineteenth century, at the end of the opium war in 18 forty two. In a in contrast to that, for about 30 years or so, the modern china begins somewhere in the seventeenth century. The field as has gone back and forth between looking at the external influences and making dramatic changes in ch China. But even in the case of those domestic things like the growth of chinas population, is deeply intertwined with international things such as new world crops.
