Foster to Adopt - Is There a Parental Leave Option?

I think a lot of companies or organizations are doing a great job of looking at their parental leave policies and procedures. What I would like to encourage companies or employers to think about is that for foster to adopt parents when you adopt the child that's not actually when you need the time off it's when you're placed with that child. Had we gotten any parental leave nor did my husband but had we gotten it it would have been really nice to have when we were placed with the boys because those first few weeks were certainly chaotic. My parents came and visited and helped which was huge huge for usbut had we gotten a leave that would have been the time to do it.
