Crystal's legal team wants to use an affirmative defence, which exists under wisconsin's law. It provides victims of human trafficking from prosecution for crimes related to that trafficking. Advocates are saying we be locking her up and just throwing away the key. We should be getting her help as a survivor of child sexual abuse and human trafficking. No one is disputing the facts of this case. What they're saying is that none of this would have happened if crystal hadn't been trafficked in the first place.
