The History of the British Parliament

There was a succession of right hand men to the monarch. But again they were just typically dependent on the monarch. And what then happened was that with Parliament increasing power and the lost royal power. The king by now it was George the first from Germany said he needed to have a figure we could make the would of his business in Parliament. So, passing over of power across Parliament created the space for somebody who's going to organize the king's business within Parliament, and that is the Prime Minister.
