The Influence of Mentors and Role Models on My Career Path

When I was a kid, the kinds of things that got me interested in science were reading science magazines. And I read a brief history of time when I was young and read about the work that Stephen Hawking was doing. That was one place I got inspiration. My mom is very interested in science and science fiction. She would do things like listen to the Feynman physics lectures in the car for her own interest. It's also helpful to have a kind of long-term picture in mind of what kind of work you want to do and how you want to get there.
