A woman saw a floating corpse in the sea and thought it was her husband. She began to weep as at an omen, then while beating the light air with wings that instantly formed upon her she flew on a morning bird above the waves. When she touched the still and pallid form embracing his dear limbs with her new wings she gave cold kisses with her hardened bill all those who saw it doubted whether cakes could feel her kisses but he was truly conscious of her grief.
