Tolkien's Rivendell, It's Not an Exciting Story

"I've noticed this about my own travels, like people to ask me, tell, talk about times you've traveled and it's almost always the bad experiences that are the best stories," Tolkien says. "Because they kind of have an adventure,. there's some danger, there's up and down, there's some excitement, those make great stories later." He adds: "If I try to tell about it now, it sounds kind of boring. Oh yeah, this place is wonderful and it's great".
