The Inquest Into Azaria's Abduction
The initial inquest into Azaria's disappearance was opened in Alice Springs on December 18th of 1980. A park ranger found what he believed to be dingo tracks leading from the tent and often the direction of some rocks near the base of Uluru. Police followed the faint trail, and to their horror found blood-stained clothes belonging to the two-month-old Azaria. The police then accused Lindy Chamberlain of murdering her own child. They were implying that someone had cut a two-month old baby's throat,. And in their view, that person was her own mother.
