Confessions Are Good for Christian Liberty

The Westminster does start with the Bible and then moves very quickly to the doctrine of God. The confessions are, and catechisms are standards by which church members can evaluate the preaching that they hear or the hymns that they're asked to sing. So it's not an instrument of controlling people. It's actually good for Christian liberty because they say this is what we believe the Bible teaches.
