The Milky Way and the Spiral Arms
We now know that we live like sort of halfway out from the center of the galaxy along one of these spiral arms. The Milky Way itself is a little bit twisted, maybe because of recent mergers or gravitational interactions with other galaxies. We have this central bar and a nuclear bulge. So they're like, if you took a pen and started through an orange, that's kind of what it looks like.
