The Importance of Authentic Communication in Language Teaching
A key tenant of communicative language teaching is focused on meaning first, but a lot of textbooks aren't necessarily conducive to that. Leo: We want to focus on performing in the language first and foremost,. Then making space at some point there thereafter to work on form and to help. The interaction is natural. We are asking real questions. All of that is what you said, Mike, we're learning in the language. It's very student centered because we're talking about topics. And this approach just really speaks to them say more than other methods that might prescribe outcomes ahead of time.
