This episode is the most effective depiction of the autocratic power of the empire and the fear that you would have living underneath the yoke of this thing. It's scarier than watching alder on blow up. And it's Cassian is a rebel from the moment we meet him, whether he knows it or not,. He has killed very early on in the show. We're trying to overthrow an absolutely corrosive and impenetrable fascist system which is choking everyone out. There's a scope here that is staggering and yet somehow also extremely localizing and humanizing.
