How different were the members of the band, would you say, from each other, like music-wise, taste-wise? Well, we had Pigpin, who was very, very funky. He was all about blues and not much else. And then we had Phil, who was into classically, was classically trained. And sort of moonlighted in the jazz world. Mickey was a Marshall drummer. He played Marshall music. Billy's... I finally figured out who Billy's major influence was. There was a certain era of Ray Charles, that drummer. It just happened.
