The Story Tells Itself

The information you find is oftentimes not nearly as valuable as the next place it leads you. If you go into an investigation with a set of preconceptions or assumptions that can maybe taint or inadvertently direct the investigation, i would caution people to let the story tell itself. You're looking for pieces of information that are confirming the conclusion you've already made. And that's, in my experience, not a great way to investigate.
